Sinenhlanhla Msweli

Sinenhlanhla Msweli, Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal, is a published author of the book “Mbalenhle”, and is currently CAP’s as a translator.

She holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Language Practice from the Durban University of Technology. Here, Sinenhlanhla developed a strong foundation in various languages, including isiZulu, English, Mandarin and Spanish. Her academic journey has allowed her to study the intricacies of language structures, phonetics, and semantics. This knowledge is critical as it helps Sinenhlanhla understand not just the lexicon of languages but also the cultural nuances that play a significant role in effective writing and translation.

In 2021 she was awarded the Erasmus Mobility Exchanged Scholarship to study Linguistics for six months at the University of Malaga, Spain and in 2023 was also part of the students who were invited by the president of China for Language and Cultural Exchange Winter Camp.

Moreover, Sinenhlanhla has volunteered for a community radio station as a journalist;writing, editing and reporting on news, while translating their business materials for underprivileged communities. This experience reinforced her commitment to use her language skills to make a positive impact on society.
