RE[CAP]
re[cap] is presented by the Contemporary Archive Project, bringing together a broad spectrum of photography exploring Durban’s inner city and coastline. This project is a culmination of an online talks series by South African photographers, hosted by peers in the field, presented to a public audience.
Each photographer presented a portion of their archive, contributing to a network of imagery that was then responded to through commissioned texts. re[cap] aims to create an interactive web of images, sound and text, as the work and perspectives of a diverse cultural community becomes one.
The online space is intentionally uncurated, inviting viewers to journey through the work. [CAP]TIVATE SESSIONS and images presented by Paige Furness, Sibusiso Gcaba, Rory Jacobs, Robyn Perros and Andre Swart. Texts presented by Tanlume Enyatseng, Gcotyelwa Mashiqa, Paulo Menezes, Sne Msweli and Niamh Walsh-Vorster. The sessions also include presentations by Thero Makepe and Cedric Nunn. re[cap] is supported by the National Arts Council of South Africa.
